I Bought the Disney Store Andy & Buzz Lightyear Talking Figure — Worth It for Toy Story Fans?

By Nora Mar16,2026

I bought the Disney Store Andy Interactive Figure because I’ve always had a soft spot for Toy Story, and the idea of owning a talking version of Andy felt like a fun piece of nostalgia. While ordering it, I also picked up the Disney Store Buzz Lightyear Interactive Talking Action Figure since the toys are designed to interact with each other.

I wanted to see if the experience actually felt as fun in real life as it looked online.

What is the Buzz Lightyear Interactive Figure?

The Disney Store Andy Interactive Figure is a talking toy based on the character Andy from the Toy Story films. It includes built-in phrases, poseable limbs, and sensors designed to trigger voice lines when certain buttons are pressed. The figure is battery-powered and marketed as part of the Disney Store’s interactive Toy Story line, where some characters can recognise each other and trigger additional dialogue when placed nearby.

Why I Bought It

I mainly bought Andy because I liked the idea of having a Toy Story character that actually talks and reacts. Since the packaging mentioned interaction with other characters, I also ordered Buzz at the same time so I could test how the toys behave together.

My Experience Using It

When the package arrived, I opened Andy first because that was the one I was most curious about. The figure looks pretty close to the character design from the movies, especially the outfit and hairstyle. One detail I liked immediately was the bottom of the shoe, which has the classic “Andy” writing under it, which is a small but nostalgic touch that fans of the movies will recognise.

After inserting the batteries, I started pressing the buttons to cycle through the voice lines. The audio is clear and recognizable, and the phrases trigger easily when the button is pressed. I spent a few minutes going through the different lines just to see how many there were and how they sounded.

The figure has some articulation in the arms, legs, and head, so I tried adjusting the pose slightly to see how flexible it was. It’s not super poseable like a collector’s action figure, but there’s enough movement to change the stance if you want to display it on a shelf.

Since I had also bought Buzz, I placed the Buzz Lightyear Interactive Talking Figure next to Andy to see how the interaction feature works. When the figures are close together, they occasionally trigger additional dialogue, which is a fun idea. The interaction itself is fairly simple, but it’s still entertaining the first few times you hear the characters respond to each other.

After using both toys for a while, it felt like the main appeal is the nostalgia factor and the character voices. Once you’ve heard the phrases a few times, the novelty settles down a bit, but the figures still work well as display pieces or casual toys for Toy Story fans.

Is It a Scam?

No. The Disney Store Andy Interactive Figure generally delivers what the product promises. It’s a talking character toy with basic articulation and some interactive features. The main limitation is that the interaction and voice line variety are fairly simple, so expectations should be realistic.

It’s a legitimate Disney Store toy with the features it advertises. The only thing to keep in mind is that the marketing images can make it look more premium than it really is… in reality, it’s a mid-range toy rather than a high-end collectable.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Recognizable Toy Story character design
  • Clear and audible voice phrases
  • Fun interaction between characters
  • Works as both a toy and collectible

Cons

  • Limited articulation
  • Interaction feature is fairly simple
  • Not a huge number of voice phrases

How to Use

  1. Insert the required batteries into the figure.
  2. Press the button to activate voice phrases.
  3. Adjust the arms, legs, and head to change the pose.
  4. Place compatible Toy Story figures nearby to trigger interaction dialogue.

Alternatives to Consider

If you’re looking at other Toy Story toys, these are popular options:

  • Disney Store Woody Interactive Talking Action Figure
  • Mattel Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Talking Figure
  • Disney Store Jessie Interactive Talking Figure

Conclusion: Would I Recommend It?

Yes, I’d recommend the Disney Store Buzz Lightyear Interactive Figure if you want a fun Toy Story toy with lights, phrases, and interactive features.

It’s not the most premium Buzz figure out there, but for kids or casual fans, it does a good job capturing the character and adds a bit of that classic “To infinity and beyond!” nostalgia.
