I Bought the Tivano Cutting Board After Seeing the Ads — Here’s My Honest Review

By Nora Jun6,2025

I cook most days of the week, and my cutting board gets a ton of use, from chopping vegetables to prepping raw chicken. So when I saw all the ads for the Tivano Cutting Board claiming it was ultra-hygienic, knife-friendly, and long-lasting, I was intrigued. My wooden board had started warping, and plastic ones always left weird smells. So, I took a chance and ordered Tivano’s titanium-coated board. Here’s how it went.

What Is The Tivano Cutting Board?

The Tivano Cutting Board is marketed as a high-performance, antibacterial cutting board made with something they call TitaniumShield™ technology. According to the brand, it resists bacteria, odors, mold, and warping. It’s supposedly non-toxic, BPA-free, and won’t dull your knives. They also claim it’s scratch-resistant, dishwasher-safe, and lasts significantly longer than standard boards.

Sounds like a dream cutting board… if it all holds up.

Why I Tried It

My main reason? Hygiene. I’ve had plastic boards stain and stink, and wooden ones are tough to sanitize. The idea of a board that repels bacteria and doesn’t hang on to smells (especially from garlic or raw meat) sounded like something my kitchen and my sanity needed. I was also tired of constantly sharpening my knives because of rough plastic boards.

My Experience Using It

When it arrived, the Tivano board felt sturdy and had a slick, non-porous surface that did seem different from my old boards. I liked that it didn’t absorb juices from tomatoes or chicken, and it dried fast after washing. The slight grip at the bottom kept it from sliding around too much, which I appreciated.

But I wouldn’t call this a flawless experience. The first thing that surprised me was how loud it was as cutting on it gave a slightly hollow, echoey sound that took some getting used to. Also, while it didn’t dull my knives, it did leave behind faint scratch lines, which made me question the “scratch-resistant” claim. After about two months of daily use, it’s holding up better than most boards I’ve used, but I wouldn’t say it’s aging without signs of wear.

Was it better than my $10 plastic board? Yes. Was it the revolutionary tool the marketing made it seem like? Not quite.

Pros

  • Doesn’t absorb smells or liquids
  • Easy to clean and dries quickly
  • Gentle on knife blades
  • Feels more hygienic than wood or plastic

Cons

  • Price is higher than average cutting boards
  • Scratches are still visible despite claims
  • Slightly noisy surface while chopping
  • Not as “premium” feeling as the ads suggest

Is It a Scam?

No, the Tivano Cutting Board isn’t a scam. It’s a real, functioning product that does offer some nice benefits, particularly in terms of hygiene and ease of cleaning. But it’s also heavily marketed, and some of the claims (like complete scratch resistance or ultra-premium feel) are a little exaggerated.

Where to Buy & Price

You can buy the Tivano Cutting Board on the official Tivano website, and sometimes on third-party sites like Amazon. Prices vary, but I paid around $39.95, which is on the pricier end for a single board.

Alternatives

  • Joseph Joseph Cut & Carve Board
  • Epicurean Cutting Board
  • OXO Good Grips Cutting Board
  • Teakhaus Edge Grain Cutting Board

Conclusion: Would I Recommend It?

If you’re someone who cooks daily and values a clean, odor-free cutting board, and you’re okay paying a little extra, then the Tivano board might be worth a shot. But manage your expectations. It’s not a miracle board, and the marketing makes it seem more advanced than it actually is.

For me, I’ll keep using it, but I don’t think I’d buy a second one unless the price drops. It’s decent… just not life-changing.
