I Tried the Katuaq Cordless Stick Vacuum — Honest My Brutally Honest Review

By Nora Mar9,2026

I bought the Katuaq Cordless Vacuum Cleaner because I wanted something lightweight and cordless that could handle everyday messes without dragging out a big vacuum. The listing promised strong suction, long battery life, and multiple attachments, basically a convenient all-in-one cleaning tool for quick daily use. After spending time with it, I’d say it’s decent for quick cleaning, but it definitely shows its “budget vacuum” nature in several areas.

What is the Katuaq Vacuum Cleaner?

The Katuaq cordless vacuum is a battery-powered stick vacuum designed for general household cleaning. Most listings advertise features like a 400-watt motor with up to around 38KPa suction, multiple suction modes, and a runtime of up to about 50 minutes on low power.

It’s usually sold with several attachments, crevice tools, brush heads, and a removable stick — allowing it to function as both a floor vacuum and handheld cleaner for furniture, stairs, or cars.

The goal is convenience: cordless cleaning, lightweight design, and versatility for different surfaces like hardwood floors, tile, low-pile carpets, and pet hair.

Why I Bought It

I mostly wanted something easy to grab for everyday messes. Pulling out a full-size vacuum for crumbs, pet hair, or quick floor touch-ups gets annoying.

This one seemed appealing because it promised:

  • Strong suction
  • Long battery life
  • Multiple attachments
  • Lightweight cordless design

And the price was significantly lower than big brands like Dyson or Shark.

My Experience Using It

The first thing I noticed was how lightweight and easy it is to manoeuvre. For quick cleaning around the kitchen, couch, or hallway, it’s very convenient. You can grab it, vacuum a small mess, and put it back without much effort.

On hard floors, it actually performs pretty well. It easily picks up dust, crumbs, and small debris. For quick daily cleaning, it does exactly what I wanted it to do.

However, once you move to carpets, the limitations become more obvious. While the vacuum can handle surface debris, it struggles with deeper dirt embedded in carpet fibres. You often need to go over the same spot multiple times to get everything.

Battery life also depends heavily on the power mode. The advertised runtime (around 50 minutes) is usually only achievable on the lowest suction setting. On higher power modes, the runtime drops significantly… which is common for cordless vacuums but still worth mentioning.

Another thing that feels a bit budget-level is the overall build quality. The plastic housing and attachments don’t feel fragile, but they also don’t feel particularly premium. It’s clearly built to keep the cost down.

That said, the vacuum is genuinely convenient for small apartments, quick cleanups, and everyday maintenance.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Lightweight and easy to use
  • Cordless convenience
  • Works well for quick daily cleaning
  • Good for hard floors and small debris
  • Usually very affordable

Cons

  • Struggles with deep carpet cleaning
  • Battery drains quickly on high power
  • Build quality feels average
  • Not as powerful as premium cordless vacuums

Who This Might Work For

  • People living in apartments or small homes
  • Anyone wanting a secondary vacuum for quick cleanups
  • Households with mostly hard floors

Who Should Skip It

  • People with thick carpets
  • Anyone wanting a primary deep-clean vacuum
  • Buyers expecting Dyson-level performance

Alternatives

  • BLACK+DECKER POWERSERIES+ Cordless Stick Vacuum
  • Aeitto Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
  • Dyson V7 / V8 series

Conclusion

The Katuaq Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a decent budget vacuum that works well for quick daily cleaning. It’s lightweight, convenient, and affordable, which makes it useful for small messes and hard floors.

However, it’s not a replacement for a powerful full-size vacuum. The suction and battery performance are adequate for light cleaning, but if you need serious carpet cleaning or long sessions, you’ll probably want something more powerful.
