I bought the Seurico TV Box because I wanted to turn my non-smart TV into a budget-friendly streaming hub. It promised smooth 4K playback, tons of preloaded apps, and fast performance, all at a surprisingly low price.

It’s marketed as a fully loaded solution for watching movies, YouTube, Netflix, Kodi, and more, basically a cheaper alternative to Fire Stick or Roku.
Why I Tried It
My goal was simple: I needed something that could play YouTube and Netflix smoothly and maybe stream from my external drive. The Seurico TV Box seemed promising on paper and way cheaper than most name brands. I took a chance.
My Experience Using It
Setup wasn’t hard, though the UI felt dated and a little cluttered. Navigation was laggy right out of the box, and the remote felt cheap, occasionally unresponsive unless I aimed it just right.
I managed to install Netflix and YouTube, but Netflix only ran in lower resolution (no 4K), a major letdown. The Wi-Fi signal was weak unless the router was nearby, and there were frequent buffering issues.
Worse still, many of the “pre-installed apps” were either outdated or useless, and a few even raised security flags. I ended up uninstalling most of them.
What really pushed me over the edge was the random freezing and crashing, especially when trying to run anything more demanding like Kodi or IPTV apps. I reset it twice, but the problems kept coming back.
