I Used City Beauty Lid Lifting Cream Twice Daily — My Results After 2 Weeks (Review)

By Nora Sep21,2025

One morning, I looked in the mirror and noticed my eyelids seemed heavier than usual, sagging a bit, with more crease than before, especially on one side. I’d seen the City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment in ads, promising to “firm, lift, smooth” those exact issues. I decided to give it a try, hoping it might reduce that tired or hooded look without going the more invasive route.

What Is the City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment?

The Lid Lifting Treatment by City Beauty is a cream/serum type formula targeted for eyelids. It claims to help with sagging lids, fine lines, excess folds, drooping in hooded lids, smoothing texture, and giving a more lifted look. Key ingredients include hawthorn & Arabian jasmine extracts (for supposed elasticity support), quinoa seed extract (peptides / smoothing), and “blurring microspheres” to visually diffuse lines. The formula is water-based, has silicones (for slip and smoothing texture), hyaluronic acid, several botanical extracts (green tea, cucumber etc.), and is free from fragrance, mineral oil, parabens.

Why I Bought It

I bought it because my eyelids had started to look tired; makeup didn’t settle well, and there were more creases at rest. I wanted something that I could apply morning and night that might give a firmer appearance, especially when looking in photos or just passing by mirrors. Also, the idea of a “lid lifting” product that doesn’t sting or irritate sounded good, since that area is so delicate. I also thought maybe it would help reduce how much concealer I had to pile on in the crease.

My Experience Using It

When I first used it, I was struck by how smooth it felt going on… the texture is lightweight but with a silicone base that helps it spread nicely over the eyelid without tugging. It dries down reasonably quickly, which means I could layer it under eye cream or makeup without too much waiting. The scent was mild, basically non-existent, which I appreciated as someone who’s sensitive to fragrance around the eyes.

For the first few days, I mostly noticed more even skin texture, smoother tone, and less dryness. My lids looked less flaky, and makeup applied more cleanly. After about two weeks, I started noticing a slight “lifted” look in one eye, which is more droopy; it wasn’t dramatic, but I could see the crease looked softer, more taut at rest. Other mornings, though, especially after a poor sleep or salty dinner, any lift seemed to fade quickly.

Where it disappointed: it didn’t change very heavy hooding or deep creases. On heavier lids (mine), the effect felt more like a “pull tight finish” or visual smoothing (thanks to blur microspheres), rather than an overnight tight lift. Also, if I didn’t use it consistently (skipped evening or slept on that side), results dropped off. It also sometimes pilled a little under certain makeup bases or if I layered too much, which made me cautious in how much I applied.

Overall, it’s a decent “skin smoother / light lift” product. Not miracle lifting, but for daily improving of fine lines, texture, and that slightly “droopy lid” look, it helps, especially when I use it morning + night, and get sleep and hydration right.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Lightweight, smooth texture; doesn’t tug or irritate.
  • Visibly smoother eyelid texture over a week or two.
  • Blurring microspheres give a nice diffused finish (good for makeup).
  • Ingredients are relatively clean (no fragrance, no mineral oil / parabens).
  • Uses small amount; tube lasts reasonably if used sparingly (morning & night).

Cons

  • Lift is subtle, especially for those with heavier hooding.
  • Effects are not long-lasting if consistency or lifestyle (sleep, diet) lapses.
  • Can pill under makeup if layered improperly.
  • Price is high for what is, in many cases, a “light improvement” rather than dramatic change.
  • Need to set expectations: not a replacement for medical / surgical correction.

Is It a Scam?

No, I don’t think it’s a full scam. It is a real product with real ingredients that do something, smoothing, minor lifting, helping lids look a bit more awake. But it is overhyped in marketing: some claims suggest dramatic lifting or firming that most users (including me) didn’t see. So, it’s more about managing expectations: if you expect subtle, cosmetic improvements rather than surgical-level lift, you might like it. If not, you’ll likely feel misled.

Alternatives

  • The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
  • Revision Skincare BodiFirm
  • SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex

Conclusion: Would I Recommend It?

Yes, but with clear expectations. If your lids are beginning to droop, with mild creases, and you want something that helps you look more awake, smoother, and more refined under makeup, City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment can be worth a try. Just don’t expect it to dramatically lift heavy hooded lids. For that, stronger actives / medical treatments might be required. I like it for what it does: it improves texture, softens creases, and gives a fresher look. However, I wouldn’t buy it thinking it’s a game-changer.
