Buying a mattress online always feels a little risky to me.
You can’t really test it beforehand, and pictures only tell you so much. I went into the Novilla 12-Inch Queen Hybrid Mattress with fairly modest expectations. I simply wanted something comfortable that wouldn’t leave me waking up sore every morning.
To my surprise, this ended up being one of those purchases I appreciated more and more over time.

What is the Novilla 12-Inch Queen Hybrid Mattress?
The Novilla 12-Inch Queen Hybrid Mattress combines individually wrapped pocket coils with multiple layers of foam. It’s designed to provide pressure relief, motion isolation, and improved airflow for a cooler sleeping experience.
Why I Bought It
My old mattress had reached the point where I was constantly flipping pillows, adjusting positions, and waking up feeling less rested than I should.
I wasn’t necessarily looking for the most luxurious mattress on the market. I just wanted something comfortable without spending a fortune, and the combination of memory foam and pocket coils seemed like a good balance.
My Experience Using It
Setup was easier than I expected. Like most bed-in-a-box mattresses, it arrived compressed and expanded quickly once unpacked. I was prepared for a strong chemical smell because that’s something people often mention with boxed mattresses, but any odor I noticed disappeared fairly quickly and wasn’t a major issue.

The first few nights took some adjustment, but once the mattress fully expanded and my body got used to it, I started sleeping much better than I had on my previous mattress.
What impressed me most was the balance between softness and support. I don’t enjoy mattresses that feel like concrete, but I also don’t like sinking too deeply into memory foam. This felt like a comfortable middle ground. It had enough cushioning to relieve pressure around my shoulders and hips while still providing support underneath.
I also noticed less movement during the night. If someone shifted positions on the other side of the bed, it wasn’t nearly as noticeable as it had been with my previous mattress. That ended up being one of those features I appreciated more over time.
As for the cooling claims, I think they’re reasonable, but I wouldn’t describe this as an ice-cold mattress. I didn’t find myself overheating, which was already an improvement compared to my old bed, but I wouldn’t say it completely transformed my sleeping temperature either.
Overall, I kept finding myself waking up feeling more rested, and that’s probably the biggest compliment I can give any mattress.
Build Quality, Texture & Feel
The mattress has a comfortable, medium-firm feel that worked well for me. The surface feels soft without being overly plush, and once fully expanded, it looked and felt much more premium than I expected for the price.
I also appreciated that it didn’t have the overwhelming off-gassing smell I’ve experienced with some foam products.

Product Claims vs. Reality
For me, most of the claims held up.
The mattress provided good support, minimized motion transfer, and slept comfortably throughout the night. The cooling effect felt more moderate than dramatic, but I still found it comfortable enough that overheating wasn’t an issue.
Overall, I felt the marketing matched the experience fairly well.
Is It a Scam?
Not at all. In fact, this is one of those purchases that made me question whether spending significantly more on a mattress is always necessary.
The Novilla arrived exactly as advertised, expanded properly, and delivered the comfort I was hoping for. While it may not compete with luxury mattresses that cost several times more, I never felt disappointed by what I received.
Customer Feedback
One of the reasons I decided to try this mattress was because so many buyers seemed happy with the balance of comfort and affordability.
After sleeping on it myself, I can understand why. Most people seem to appreciate that it delivers a surprisingly comfortable experience without the premium price tag.
How to Use
I found it best to allow the mattress enough time to fully expand before sleeping on it. Giving it a day or two to settle seemed to improve the overall comfort.
Alternatives to Consider
- The Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress
- Linenspa Hybrid Mattress, Nectar Classic Mattress
- DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress
These are all worth considering if you’re comparing affordable mattresses.
Conclusion — Would I Recommend It?
Yes, I would. Not because it’s the fanciest mattress I’ve ever tried, but because it delivered exactly what I hoped for: better sleep without destroying my budget.
At the end of the day, that’s really what matters most. If a mattress helps you wake up feeling rested and you stop thinking about replacing it, it’s probably doing its job.
And that’s exactly how I feel about the Novilla 12-Inch Queen Hybrid Mattress.
