If you’re trying to lower your electricity bill, you might have seen ads for the Pro Power Save, This device claims to reduce your bill and all you have to do is plug it into the breaker, make sure the green light is on and then it stabilizes your electricity. We’ve seen many ads for these so-called energy savers, but they all sound too good to be true. The question is “Does the Pro Power Save Devices work cut down on electricity?

Pro Power Save device

What Is the Pro Power Save

Sold for $49 on thepropowersaver.com, this energy-saver box is supposed to fix power factor problems by smoothing out the electrical current, reducing voltage spikes, and cutting down on electrical noise. However, it won’t save you 60% on your electric bill because it’s simply just an input filter. Most devices already have their own internal filters, so this box won’t make much of a difference. We’ve come across similar products like Stop Watt Power Saver, Electricity Saving Device.

Is The Pro Power Saver A Scam

The Pro Power Save isn’t a total scam, but it won’t cut your electricity bill. It has a capacitor and a safety component inside, but that’s all. It’s meant to help with the startup current for things like refrigerators or air conditioners. However, most new appliances already have this built-in, so it won’t make much of a difference.

Did Elon Musk Endorse The Pro Power Save

In January 2023, a Google search led to an ad for “Power Save Pro – Elon Musk Power Saver,” Clicking the ad took us to a page on consumerreviewsite.com that did not mention Musk. The truth is neither Elon Musk nor Tesla were involved in this product. Their names and images were used without permission to mislead consumers.

Customer Reviews

I gave these two months to see if they would work and my light bill has only gone higher. Did not help in the slightest. They are a scam!

This didn’t reduce our electric bill at all. I feel like I’ve been duped. Should have know it was too good to be true. Live and learn.

What Experts Have To Say

We found numerous customer reviews about the Pro Power Save, but we decided to consult electricians for their expert opinions. Here’s what they had to say:

Nothing that you connect into your houses power grid that isn’t generating power (e.g. solar panels) is going to save you any money unless you are swapping to a more efficient version of an item (e.g. swapping to LED lighting or a more energy efficient fridge).

This item i’s a straight up scam, preying on vulnerable people struggling to pay their bills.

I’m an electrical engineer and I can tell you point blank that not only do they NOT WORK, they can be dangerous. These things are made shoddily and could easily start a fire. This is because the capicator is not rated across AC line posing a fire hazard.
