I really wanted to like Cedarcide Granules. The idea sounded perfect… an all-natural pest control product that would keep bugs away without harsh chemicals.
Plus, I love the smell of cedar. After using it, though, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had basically paid for expensive cedar shavings.
What is the Cedarcide Granules?
Cedarcide Granules are cedar-based granules designed to help repel insects like fleas, ticks, ants, mosquitoes, and other pests. They’re marketed as a natural alternative to traditional chemical pesticides and can be spread around yards, flower beds, pet areas, and outdoor living spaces.
Why I Bought It
I liked the idea of using something more natural around the yard. Between pets, plants, and simply not wanting to spray chemicals everywhere, Cedarcide seemed like a good compromise.
The promise of pest control without harsh ingredients was what convinced me to give it a try.
My Experience Using It
The first thing I noticed was the smell. If you enjoy cedar, this stuff smells fantastic. Fresh out of the bag, the scent made the yard smell clean and woodsy. Honestly, I probably enjoyed the aroma more than anything else.
Spreading it was easy enough, and initially, I felt pretty optimistic. But after a while, I started asking myself an uncomfortable question:
“Is this actually doing anything?”
Because from what I could tell, the bugs certainly hadn’t received the memo. I still noticed insects in the same areas where I had applied the granules. I reapplied them. I added more. I gave it additional time.
Nothing really changed. At some point, I looked at what was left in the bag and thought, “This feels suspiciously similar to cedar mulch.”
And that’s honestly how the entire experience felt. Nice smell. Nice idea. Very little actual difference.
Texture, Scent & Feel
The granules themselves look and feel exactly like cedar shavings. The scent is strong at first and genuinely pleasant if you enjoy natural wood smells.
I have absolutely no complaints about the aroma. I just wish the performance had impressed me as much as the fragrance did.

Product Claims vs. Reality
This is where I struggled. The marketing creates the impression that these granules provide meaningful pest protection.
My experience simply didn’t support that. Maybe they discourage some insects under certain conditions, but I personally didn’t notice enough of a difference to justify the price.
Is It a Scam?
I wouldn’t call it a scam. You receive exactly what’s advertised. But I do think the effectiveness was massively underwhelming.
For me, it felt more like buying premium cedar shavings than buying a serious pest-control product.
How to Use
The application itself was straightforward. I simply spread the granules around the areas I wanted to protect and reapplied as directed.
Unfortunately, using more didn’t seem to produce better results.

Conclusion — Would I Recommend It?
Probably not. And that disappoints me because I genuinely wanted this product to work.

And personally, I never felt like I got it.
