For the longest time, I convinced myself that buying a proper espresso machine would save me money. No more coffee shop runs. No more overpriced lattes. Just café-quality drinks at home whenever I wanted.
That’s what led me to the Chefman Crema Deluxe. And while I do like this machine, I quickly learned that buying an espresso machine doesn’t magically turn you into a barista.

What is the Chefman Crema Deluxe?
The Chefman Crema Deluxe is a semi-automatic espresso machine with a built-in grinder, steam wand, and dual boiler system that allows you to steam milk and pull espresso shots at the same time. It also includes 30 grind settings and a large 3-liter water tank.
Unlike basic espresso machines, this one is designed for people who want more control over their coffee without building a separate setup.
Why I Bought It
I wanted one machine that could do everything. I didn’t want to buy a grinder separately. I didn’t want to spend weeks researching accessories. I just wanted something that would let me make cappuccinos and lattes at home without turning coffee into a second career.
The all-in-one approach was what sold me.
My Experience Using It
The machine definitely looks more expensive than it actually is. Once I set everything up, I felt like I finally had one of those “adult kitchens” people show off online.

The first few drinks, however, humbled me. Turns out espresso is a lot more complicated than pressing a button. Finding the right grind size took trial and error. Milk texturing took even longer. Some mornings I made incredible drinks. Other mornings, I produced something that tasted like disappointment.
The built-in grinder was convenient because I didn’t have to buy another appliance, and the dual boiler system was probably my favorite feature. Being able to steam milk while brewing espresso genuinely makes the whole process feel smoother.
But this machine isn’t perfect. It’s not exactly small, so expect to sacrifice some counter space. Cleaning also became more of a commitment than I expected. Between wiping the steam wand, emptying grounds, cleaning trays, and general maintenance, I quickly realised that espresso people spend almost as much time cleaning as they do drinking coffee.
I also noticed occasional inconsistencies with shot volume. A few owners have reported similar behavior with extraction continuing slightly after stopping the shot, which I found interesting because I noticed something similar myself from time to time.
Nothing disastrous. Just not always perfectly precise.
Build Quality & Feel
The machine feels solid. It doesn’t feel like a cheap appliance, and the stainless-steel design gives it a more premium appearance than I expected.
The controls are straightforward enough for beginners, although there is definitely a learning curve if you’ve never used a semi-automatic espresso machine before.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Built-in grinder saves space
- Dual boiler system is genuinely useful
- Large water tank means fewer refills
- Attractive design
- Great value compared to buying separate equipment
- Capable of making excellent drinks
Cons
- Takes up a lot of counter space
- Learning curve is steeper than I expected
- Requires regular cleaning
- Not always perfectly consistent
- Espresso making becomes surprisingly time-consuming
Is It a Scam?
No. The machine delivers the features it promises. The built-in grinder, dual boilers, steam wand, and customisation options are all there.
If anything, my unrealistic expectations were probably the bigger problem.
How to Use
I enjoyed this machine much more once I stopped chasing perfection. Good beans, patience, and accepting that not every latte has to look Instagram-worthy made the experience far more enjoyable.
Alternatives to Consider
- Breville Bambino Plus
- De’Longhi La Specialista Arte
- Ninja Luxe Café Premier
- Chefman Crema Supreme
Conclusion — Would I Recommend It?
Yes. But I’d only recommend it to someone who actually enjoys the process. Because that’s the thing nobody told me.
Buying an espresso machine isn’t just buying an appliance. You’re buying a hobby. And if you’re willing to embrace that, the Chefman Crema Deluxe can be a really enjoyable one.
If you’re just looking for quick coffee with zero effort, though, a regular coffee maker might honestly make you happier.
