I Tried Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream — Here’s My Honest Review After Use

By Nora Jun8,2026

Every few months, a skincare product seems to take over social media. For a while, that product was Medicube’s Collagen Jelly Cream.

My feeds were full of people showing off glass-like skin, claiming their faces looked plumper, bouncier, and healthier after adding this bright pink jelly moisturiser to their routines. After seeing it everywhere, I finally decided to try it myself.

What is the Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream?

The Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream is a Korean skincare moisturiser designed to hydrate, plump, and brighten the skin while creating the dewy “glass skin” look that’s become popular in K-beauty. The formula contains ingredients like niacinamide, collagen-derived ingredients, squalane, and humectants that help the skin retain moisture and appear smoother and more radiant.

Why I Tried It

The biggest reason was simple: the before-and-after photos were hard to ignore.

I wasn’t expecting miracles, but I was interested in whether it could actually deliver that healthy, plump glow people kept talking about. My skin had been looking a little dull lately, and I wanted a moisturiser that felt more exciting than the basic creams I normally use.

My Experience Using It

The first thing that stood out was the texture. It’s unlike most traditional moisturisers I’ve used. Instead of feeling creamy, it has a bouncy jelly consistency that looks almost too pretty to use. The bright pink colour definitely adds to the experience, although it made me wonder whether it was more about aesthetics than performance.

After applying it, my skin immediately looked more hydrated and noticeably glowy. Not greasy… just very fresh and dewy.

For the first week, I found myself genuinely liking how my skin looked. Makeup sat nicely on top of it, and on no-makeup days my complexion seemed healthier and more radiant. The biggest benefit for me was hydration.

My skin consistently felt soft and comfortable, and I noticed less dryness throughout the day. The plumping effect was also real, although I think it came mostly from hydration rather than any dramatic anti-aging transformation.

What I didn’t notice was a significant reduction in fine lines or major improvements in skin elasticity. Some of the marketing makes it sound as though you’re getting the effects of a collagen treatment in a jar, but my results felt much closer to what I’d expect from a good moisturizer.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. The problem is that the online hype can sometimes create expectations that no moisturiser could realistically meet.

Texture, Scent & Feel

This is easily one of the most enjoyable parts of the product. The jelly texture feels lightweight, cooling, and refreshing on the skin. It spreads easily and leaves behind a very dewy finish.

There is a noticeable fragrance, though. I personally didn’t find it overwhelming, but people with fragrance sensitivities may feel differently.

The finish is definitely glowy rather than matte.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Excellent hydration
  • Gives skin a healthy glow
  • Lightweight jelly texture
  • Layers well under makeup
  • Skin feels softer and smoother
  • Attractive packaging and pleasant user experience

Cons

  • Contains fragrance
  • Can feel too dewy for some people
  • Premium pricing compared to basic moisturizers
  • Doesn’t deliver dramatic anti-aging results
  • Marketing may create unrealistic expectations

Product Claims vs. Reality

The hydration claims held up very well. The cream made my skin look healthier, plumper, and more moisturised almost immediately. It also gave my complexion a nice radiance that lasted throughout the day.

Where I think expectations should be lowered is the collagen marketing.

Topical collagen ingredients can help moisturize the skin, but they’re not rebuilding lost collagen deep within the skin the way some people may assume. The visible plumping effect seems to come largely from hydration.

The glow is real. The dramatic anti-aging expectations are probably less realistic.

Is It a Scam?

No. Unlike many viral skincare products that rely almost entirely on marketing, Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream is a legitimate moisturiser with ingredients that support hydration and overall skin appearance.

The only caution I’d give is not to confuse a great moisturiser with a miracle anti-ageing treatment.

Ingredient Breakdown

One of the reasons this product became so popular is that the formula contains several well-known skincare ingredients.

Niacinamide helps support a more even-looking complexion and skin barrier function. Squalane provides lightweight moisture, while humectants help draw water into the skin and keep it hydrated.

The collagen ingredients contribute to the moisturising and skin-plumping effect, although they don’t function the same way as naturally occurring collagen within the skin.

Overall, the ingredient list is actually stronger than many viral skincare products I’ve tested.

How to Use

I found it worked best as the final moisturizing step in my evening routine, although it also performed well under makeup during the day.

If you have oily skin, you may prefer using a smaller amount since the finish is naturally quite dewy.

Alternatives to Consider

  • Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream
  • Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream
  • Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream
  • Torriden Dive-In Soothing Cream

Conclusion — Would I Recommend It?

Yes, with the right expectations. Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream is one of the better viral skincare products I’ve tried because it actually delivers on its main promise: making your skin look hydrated, plump, and glowing.

What it doesn’t do is perform miracles. I didn’t suddenly develop wrinkle-free skin or wake up looking years younger. What I got was a moisturiser that consistently made my skin look healthier and more radiant, and honestly, that’s enough for me.

I’d repurchase it for the hydration and glow alone.
