I bought the Philips NeoPix 150 hoping for an affordable projector for casual movie nights.
Not for cinema-quality visuals… Just something simple that could turn a blank wall into a bigger screen. And once I stopped expecting the most from a budget projector, I enjoyed it a lot more.

What is the Philips NeoPix 150 Projector?
The Philips NeoPix 150 is an entry-level HD projector designed for home entertainment. It supports screen sizes up to 65 inches and includes HDMI, USB, and audio connections for streaming devices, gaming consoles, and other media sources.
It’s aimed at people who want a simple projector without spending premium money.
Why I Bought It
I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a projector I might only use occasionally. I mainly wanted something for movie nights, YouTube videos, and the occasional binge-watching session when I felt like having a bigger screen experience.
The affordable price was what convinced me to try it.
My Experience Using It
The setup was incredibly straightforward. Within minutes, I had it connected and projecting onto the wall. I appreciated that I didn’t need to spend an hour reading instructions just to get started.
Picture quality was decent for the price. In a dark room, movies looked perfectly enjoyable. Colours were acceptable, and for casual viewing, I honestly didn’t have major complaints.
Where things became more challenging was brightness.

This projector definitely performs best in darker environments. During the day or in rooms with a lot of ambient light, the image loses a lot of its impact.
I also quickly learned that this isn’t the type of projector that replaces a television. Text isn’t razor sharp, and if you’re expecting premium 4K performance, you’ll probably be disappointed.
The built-in speaker was usable, but I eventually connected an external speaker because the audio felt a little thin.
Still, for relaxed movie nights, it did exactly what I bought it to do.
Build Quality & Feel
The NeoPix 150 feels lightweight and compact.
It doesn’t feel luxurious, but it doesn’t feel cheaply made either. The design is simple, and because it’s small, storing it when not in use is easy.

Is It a Scam?
No. The Philips NeoPix 150 does exactly what I expected from an entry-level projector. The key is matching your expectations to the price.
Customer Feedback
From what I’ve seen, most owners appreciate the affordability and simplicity. People looking for an inexpensive projector for occasional use generally seem satisfied.
The biggest complaints usually involve brightness and the fact that it performs best in dark rooms.
That lined up with my experience pretty closely.
How to Use
I got the best results by using it at night with the lights dimmed. Adding an external speaker also made the experience much better.

Conclusion — Would I Recommend It?
Yes, but only to the right person. If you’re expecting a true home theater experience, this probably isn’t the projector for you. But if you simply want an affordable way to enjoy movies on a larger screen from time to time, I think the NeoPix 150 does a respectable job.
For me, it delivered exactly what I wanted… A fun, uncomplicated projector for casual entertainment. And sometimes, that’s all you really need.
