I bought ELOIX Tallow Balm after seeing countless videos claiming beef tallow was the secret to healthier, softer, more radiant skin.
While I can understand why so many people love the idea of it, my own experience left me feeling much less enthusiastic.

What Is ELOIX Tallow Balm?
ELOIX Tallow Balm is a moisturizer made with grass-fed beef tallow, raw honey, and olive oil. The company markets it as a natural, multi-purpose balm that can be used on the face, lips, hands, and body to deeply hydrate the skin, strengthen the skin barrier, calm irritation, and promote a healthier-looking complexion.
Like many tallow-based skincare products, it focuses on simple ingredients instead of long ingredient lists filled with synthetic additives. The appeal is that beef tallow contains fatty acids and naturally occurring vitamins that are similar to some of the oils already found in human skin, making it an attractive option for people looking for a more minimalist skincare routine.
Why I Bought It
The amount of hype surrounding beef tallow skincare eventually got to me. Everywhere I looked, people were talking about glowing skin, repaired skin barriers, smoother texture, and how they’d replaced entire skincare routines with one jar of tallow balm.
Naturally, I became curious. If one product could really do all that, I wanted to see it for myself.
My Experience Using It
The first thing I noticed was how rich the balm felt. A tiny amount covered a surprisingly large area, and it definitely left my skin feeling moisturized. On particularly dry areas, I actually liked how nourishing it felt.
What I struggled with was everything beyond that.
Despite using it consistently, I never experienced the dramatic transformation that had convinced me to buy it in the first place. My skin certainly felt softer after application, but I wasn’t seeing the remarkable glow, smoother texture, or noticeable improvement that so many people seemed to describe online.
I also found it heavier than I expected. On days when my skin already felt balanced, the balm sometimes felt like more product than I actually needed. I often preferred using it only on particularly dry spots rather than across my entire face.
By the end, I appreciated it as a rich moisturiser, but I couldn’t honestly say it revolutionised my skincare routine.
Texture, Scent & Feel
This is probably one of the stronger aspects of the product.
The balm melts easily once it warms against your skin and spreads without much effort. Because it’s so concentrated, a little goes a long way.
That said, the texture is undeniably rich. If you enjoy lightweight moisturizers that disappear almost instantly, this may feel heavier than you’re used to.

Product Claims vs. Reality
ELOIX promotes the balm as a deeply hydrating moisturizer that helps repair the skin barrier, soothe irritation, soften fine lines, and leave skin looking healthier and more radiant.
I absolutely agree that it’s moisturizing.
Where I became less convinced was with some of the broader skincare promises. Personally, I didn’t notice dramatic improvements in my skin’s appearance beyond what I would expect from using a rich moisturizer consistently.
The hydration was real, but the transformation wasn’t.
Is It a Scam?
No, I wouldn’t call ELOIX Tallow Balm a scam. The ingredients are exactly what the company says they are, and the balm genuinely does a good job of moisturising dry skin. If hydration is your primary goal, I can understand why some people become loyal customers.
My hesitation comes from the expectations surrounding beef tallow skincare as a whole.
After spending time researching the trend, I realized that while many people absolutely love tallow balms, the scientific evidence supporting some of the more dramatic skincare claims is still fairly limited. Much of the enthusiasm comes from personal testimonials rather than strong clinical research. Dermatologists also point out that beef tallow isn’t a miracle ingredient and may not be suitable for every skin type.
So no, I don’t think I was scammed.
I simply think I bought into the hype more than the product itself.
Customer Feedback
Customer reviews are overwhelmingly positive on the company’s own website, with many people praising the hydration, softness, and simple ingredient list.
Outside of the brand’s website, opinions become a little more balanced. While plenty of people genuinely enjoy using tallow balms, others mention that they’re heavier than expected, don’t work well for every skin type, or simply don’t live up to the social media hype.
That honestly reflects my own experience.

Conclusion — Would I Recommend It?
Somewhat. If your skin is extremely dry and you’re simply looking for a rich, natural moisturiser, I think there’s a good chance you’ll appreciate what ELOIX Tallow Balm offers.
But if you’re buying it because social media convinced you it’ll completely transform your skin, I’d encourage you to lower your expectations.
For me, it worked well as a moisturiser. It just didn’t feel like the revolutionary skincare product I had been led to believe it was.
